American identity is not just about blind patriotism—it's about understanding the history and current state of the nation to redefine what America(n) is tomorrow.
Meet Upriser, Aditi Mayer. She is an ethical and sustainable fashion blogger, who is using her platform to shed some light on the fast fashion world, and how action and activism can make a difference... just as long as we come together to make those actions real. See below a quick interview we did with her to learn how she's #AmericanMade.
Ok, so what's your story?
Aditi: My name is Aditi Myer and I am the blogger and photographer behind Adimay.com Adimay.com is a blog that supports style, sustainability and social justice.
What triggered a desire to start this blog and tell those kinds of stories?
Aditi: We are a direct response to fast fashion; companies who are rampant with exploiting the environment and their workers. With the work that I produce, I really aim to tie our love for expression with our love for justice.
And how does Uprising relate to what you do?
Aditi: When it comes to a brand like Uprising, it really centers community, intersectionality, and diversity. And when it comes to our activism, it really needs to go beyond the tee shirt. So we can work together by spreading awareness. If we impact one person that's good enough for me.
What does the American Dream mean to you?
Aditi: For me, the idea of the 'American Dream' is about realizing the importance of equal opportunity, and putting in the work to make this accessible for all—a form of justice. American identity is not just about blind patriotism—it's about understanding the history and current state of the nation to redefine what America(n) is tomorrow.
Any last words?
Aditi: If we tie our ethics with how brands produce clothing, we create a more sustainable, holistic effort.
Now for the fun stuff:
