#AmericanMade Stories: PARKER XL

WRITTEN BY NICOLE BEST
With less brick and mortar structures and less traditional business roles out there, you need to be your own revenue stream and figure out jobs that might seem out-of-the-box.
Meet ParkerXL. Brand consultant, stylist and digital influencer. Whether it's fashion, art, or travel, ParkerXL is living his American Dream by sharing his life as authentically as he can through social media. Because without failure, there is no success.
See our interview below on how he made his American Dream a reality, and what he wishes to continue building in young minds everywhere.

So, what's your story?
Parker XL:  I was born in Minnesota and now am thriving in Los Angeles. It's a big change but it's so inspiring to be around art, culture and people who want to make something happen.

What was the hardest thing you had to overcome to get where you are?
Parker XL:  My goal is to basically inspire youth through different mediums. Whether it's fashion, art, or even business - there's just so much you can do and a lot of people don't realize all of the possibilities out there. Figuring out how to monetize those different mediums is basically how I create revenue.

What change do you hope to inspire?
Parker XL:  I want to challenge young minds to become more entrepreneurial. American Made, Uprising brand - the concept behind both of these things is definitely tapping into that mindset, which is a big reason why I support this brand and the ethos behind it.

Now some fun questions:
1. Finish this sentence. I cannot live without my...
Fedora!

2. Dream vacation?
Bora Bora

3. Guilty pleasure?
Binge eating while watching Netflix.

4. Most prized possession?
Cell Phone

5. Hidden talent?
I can hack and code ;)

Lastly, what does the American Dream mean to you?

Parker XL: I want to restructure the whole idea of what the American Dream is. Years ago, it was white picket fence, husband, wife, and kids. But now, with less brick and mortar structures and less traditional business roles out there, you need to be your own revenue stream and figure out jobs that might seem out-of-the-box.
